I read too much into things from the show sometime- Boon'e visions of Shannon and the smoke monster killing her after Locke drugged him and the name "Fiver" and the fact that the book belonged to Boone. I remember reading that Boone's name was originally going to be Boone Anthony Markham V, with him going by the nickname, "Five." But they changed their mind because of the "Party of 5" tattoo that Jack has on his arm. I loved the book as well.
