I don’t know how many times I’ve walked past this tree, but each time it’s just a tree. On some nights, however, when the leaves rustle quietly in the wind, and everyone has gone inside, it looms over these houses, reaching out, waiting…

    Cool photo – I think one of the reasons I fell in love with Virginia is that the landscape is straight out of the Evil Dead or one of those vintage EC horror comic books.

    Annie, I was thinking more Lord of the Rings, and very happy that I wasn’t mistaken for an Orc.

    Mark, Thanks. I lived there as a little kid, but it seemed friendly back then. Of course, I hadn’t heard about evil trees at that point in my life.
