Cloudy Day

Street Cones

This is mostly an experiment with Flickr. The poem is one I wrote back in April and I took the picture with my iphone a few weeks ago in New York. I used Flickr’s editing tools to add the text and touch-up the image. I was able to do everything I wanted to do without Photoshop, which makes me wonder if I really need to upgrade. The more I play with Flickr, the more impressed I am with it. It’s crazy I’ve had an account for 4 years, and I’ve never used it until about a week ago.

  1. Your Flickr experiment is quite beautiful. You’ve inspired me to play, too. I had no idea something like this could be done. I especially like that typeface (and, oh yes, did I mention the poem?)

    • Thanks, Elizabeth. It’s remarkably easy to use, isn’t it? The typeface is one of the few free ones, but one that seems to really lend itself to this kind of thing.

  2. I love playing in flickr (picnik). These photo-poem things are so much fun; the only problem I have is I end up taking way too many pictures, thinking “oh, this would make a good poem!”

(it’s probably a good thing I don’t have an iphone.)

    • I have a stack of those ‘it would be a good poem’ shots and now that have an iphone 4 I’m starting to the same with video. Of course, finding time to sit down and finish is the tricky part πŸ™‚
