Warning: some of the photos are of a graphic nature.
It seems that from time to time, especially on sunny days, the apes enjoy tormenting their poor greyhounds. No one knows why this occurs. One minute a pup is lounging on the couch and suddenly, without so much as a recitation of miranda rights, the poor hound is carried away to be tortured without any recourse or even a visit from the Red Cross or the Greyhound Protection League.
We have tried to document the atrocities in order to raise awareness.
Here is one of the torture rooms located in Austin, Texas. Notice the sweet smelling poison (behind the faucet) that will be slathered all over the victims’ fur.
Greyhound Phoebe wouldn’t talk, but you can see the poison on her coat.
Finally, Greyhound Daphne was put to the water torture, but she also refused to betray her loyalties. “Do your worst,” she said.
When water and shampoo wouldn’t work, they were forced to endure the psychological humiliation of being paraded around the neighborhood stripped of their hard-earned odor and looking all fluffy.
Finally, Daphne led the retreat back to the couch…

soooooo are they preparing to “Escape from the Planet of the Apes”? **DUCKS**
Greyhounds having to bathe is cruel and you should be ashamed!!
I love the dog’s-eye-view of the last photo.
See, this is why baths are not an option here at IM Central. Look at Daphne’s face in the second to the last picture. You know she’s just thinking “Wash me now two legs. When dogs take over the world, you will be one of the first to be eaten.”
PS: We recommend long walks in the rain. It doesn’t really fool them (especially when one brings out a bottle of shampoo) but it will probably mean we’re only used as a chew toy for a brief period instead of eaten completely. It’s your choice.
Ironicus, I like the idea of walking them in the rain, but around here rain tends to come mainly with thunder and lighting, turning it into true torture. That would probably get me fed to the cat, who would toy with me before eating me.
Jessica, Thanks. It was a spur of the moment thing, but I’m really taken by it myself. I wonder what Daphne is looking at. Perhaps she’s wondering if the coast is clear.
Mallory, I suspect there would quickly be a “Return to the Planet of the Apes” since that’s where the delicious food is kept.
Great post!
Love the bath photos!!! (my greyhound LOVES water and has been known to jump into swimming pools without warning)
