This was taken in Round Rock, TX in the vicinity of I-35 and McNeil Road sometime around 1989-1990. I think it’s a church again these days, but I always thought the idea of a Church of Karate was kind of funny.
If they celebrate Festivus, it would certainly make the ‘feats of strength’ portion of the holiday especially interesting.

This was my martial arts school for 20 years. It was called The Karate Chop at first then changed to Round Rock Martial Arts. It was the most epic place to train, learn and fight in. The stained glass windows carried beautiful colors throughout the dojo. The original baptismal tub was still behind the main stage which was pretty neat. I joined that school in 1993 through 2001 when they had to change location because the original owner sold the building back to a church group. I wish I took more pictures of our time there. It was an incredible place full of incredible people!!!
